Virtual Campus
On-line Learning The school's international perspective assumes still
greater importance in the light of recent developments in learning
technologies.
Our own Virtual Campus enables students to access on-line resources and
gather information from around the globe. The Virtual Campus aims to
integrate appropriate information technologies with all components of
the curriculum in order to produce significant improvements in the
teaching and learning programs at Caulfield.
Supported by a team of information technology specialists and teachers,
the Virtual Campus also allows students from across the school to share
learning experiences and information. Our IT specialists and teachers
work together to identify, prepare and deliver resources into the
classroom.
Resources developed by the Virtual Campus are delivered on-line via the
school-wide intranet. Teachers or students are able to prepare their own
pages of content, to be viewed from any school computer. The intranet
structure is secure, so that the intranet administrator can determine
who may change the content, who verifies the content once it has been
prepared and who can view the content through the intranet or via the
internet.
The school does not require parents to buy laptop/notebook computers for their children for use at school. Students at every campus and year level have access to computer laboratories, along with computers and their accessories in every classroom. Caulfield Grammar places strong emphasis on computer literacy and the importance of integrating learning technologies into all learning programs. Students are exposed to information technology learning programs from pre-prep. Students are provided with email access and remote access to the school's information technology network.
