The Middle Years

Recognising the significant and often rapid changes that occur in girls and boys during the years of early adolescence and the transition from primary to secondary schooling, the staff at all campuses of Caulfield Grammar School work closely to provide a caring environment for our students.

Specialist teams of teachers provide strong pastoral care while also assisting in the academic learning program. These teachers are committed to delivering learning programs using the styles of learning best suited to girls and boys in these year levels.

Secondary level schooling is delivered at Caulfield Campus and Wheelers Hill Campus, where excellent facilities support an extensive learning program. Information technology, languages, sciences, humanities, the arts and much more.

Following on from visits begun in the junior school, students stay at Yarra Junction Campus in Years 7 and 8 during the course of the Earth Studies and Education Outdoors programs.

Each Year 7 and Year 8 class now has a dedicated Learning Mentor, in addition to the subject specialist teacher.

Year 9 students also have the opportunity to experience the unique Internationalism Program offered at our Nanjing Campus.

Based on the overwhelming success of the Internationalism Program, a new approach has been introduced to Year 9 that is both active and experiential. New learning journeys as they are known, are holistic in their approach and aid students in their preparation for VCE studies - which is available from Year 10. This teaching and learning approach has a greater impact on students at this level of development.
