The School Day
A major focus of our staff's professional development has been recognising and responding to the learning differences of individuals.In the junior school, extended literacy and numeracy blocks enable a period of concentrated teaching and learning in these key areas. At secondary level, academic classes consist of 65-minute periods. This enables teachers to better meet the needs of individual students by providing a range of learning experiences. It also gives teachers time to observe, assist and engage more intensively in the learning process themselves.
Activities for students requiring either help with specific skills or extension of their learning are built into their individual daily learning program.
