The future of learning
Term 3 saw the opening of our groundbreaking new Senior School building at Caulfield Campus
It was an exciting start to Term 3 for our Years 10–12 students in the new Senior School Teaching & Learning building at Caulfield Campus.
Home to 950 Senior School students and 50 staff, this innovative facility will help prepare our School leavers for the reality of workplace environments. Spread over five levels, it includes 28 general classrooms, 8 science laboratories, a Design Tech space, a function room, informal learning spaces and break-out hubs.
In keeping with the School’s commitment to environmental sustainability, this building is on track to become Australia’s first 6 Star Green Star and WELL Gold education building.
Sustainability initiatives include rainwater and solar harvesting for re-use within the building, a smart Building Management System with the ability to control and collect data on all building services such as water/power consumption, high thermal performance façade glazing and energy-efficient building services. Biophilic design principles include high daylight accessibility conveying a sense of time and weather, visual connections with nature both internally and externally, higher than code fresh air ventilation provisions and material connections to nature with extensive use of timber finishes.
