National Science Week was a week filled with learning and curiosity in our Junior Schools.

At Wheelers Hill Junior, students made fossils & lava lamps and raced soap-powered boats during lunch-time science club, harvested carrots from our kitchen garden to make a tasty dip, tackled exciting STEM challenges with mystery boxes, watched science come alive in the Big Science Show, and concluded the week with a Junior School Day dedicated to STEM learning.

This year’s theme is Species Survival and Malvern Campus Years 3 and 4 students worked in House teams to create a habitat diorama for their House colour while Preps–Year 2s created animals to live in these habitats. Years 5 and 6 House teams competed in an exciting Escape Room related to the science behind conservation work and the survival of species.
