The 1881 Bequest Society has been established to recognise and acknowledge, in their lifetime, those who have made a gift in their Will. Those who notify the School of their bequest are warmly welcomed as members of the 1881 Bequest Society and join a group of Grammarians, parents, staff and friends who are passionate about providing the best possible learning environment and experiences for Caulfield Grammar School students.

Wording Alternatives for Including a Gift to the School in Your Will

To ensure your Will fulfils your intentions and is a legally sound document, it is essential that it be drawn up by a solicitor or Trustee Company. The following are some wording alternatives that can be used as the basis for discussion with your solicitor.

Option A – a nominated sum of money

I GIVE to the Caulfield Grammar School Foundation Ltd, 217 Glen Eira Road St Kilda East, Melbourne 3183 the sum of $ ____ and I declare that the receipt of the Foundation duly issued by a proper officer shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors and Trustees for the amount received.

Option B – a share of the residue of an estate

AFTER payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses and all duties and taxes payable by reason of my death, I GIVE the residue of my estate to my Executors and Trustees UPON TRUST TO DIVIDE the same into (number of shares) shares and pay same as follows:

a) (number of shares) to the Caulfield Grammar School Foundation Ltd, 217 Glen Eira Road St Kilda East, Melbourne 3183 and I declare that the receipt of the Foundation duly issued by a proper officer, shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors and Trustees for the amount received.

Option C – specific gifts of personal or real estate

I GIVE to the Caulfield Grammar School Foundation Ltd, 217 Glen Eira Road St Kilda East, Melbourne 3183, free of any duties and taxes including capital gains tax the following items of property and effects: and I declare that the receipt of the Foundation duly issued by a proper officer shall, be a sufficient discharge to my Executors and Trustees.
