What happens after I send in the application for enrolment?
Your child’s name is placed on a waitlist for the year level you requested. Please note that your child’s position on our waitlist is based on the date of their application. An application for enrolment does not guarantee admission. You can find more information about how we prioritise our waiting lists on the Admissions Policy.
It is important to keep your details up to date to ensure you do not miss any communication from the Admissions Team.
How likely is it that my child will be offered a place at Caulfield Grammar School?
We encourage you to contact the Admissions Team who will be able to give you the likelihood of your child being offered a place.
Where is my child on the waitlist?
Due to the changing nature of waitlists, it is difficult to advise your child’s actual position at any point in time. We encourage you to contact the Admissions Team who will be able to give you the likelihood of your child being offered a place.
My child has additional learning needs; how will you assess their application?
In addition to an internal review of the information supplied with your Pre-Enrolment Form, you and/or your child may be asked to participate in conversations/interviews with relevant staff and/or supply further documentation. The educational requirements of your child, and all students in your child’s cohort, are considered in order to ascertain if they can be reasonably accommodated.
My child has been offered a place but we would like to defer to another year. Are we guaranteed a place in that year level?
Offers of enrolment only apply to the specified year level, year of entry and campus. If you wish to change your child’s year and/or year level of entry after you have received an offer, you must notify the Admissions Team in writing. This does not guarantee a place to the year level you change to.
What are your fees?
You can find details of our fees in the Important Information section above.
How do I apply?
Applications are accepted online only, via the ‘Application for Enrolment’ option at the top of the page.
Can I apply for more than one year level?
No, you can only be on one waitlist at a time, however you can change your preferred entry year at any time by contacting the Admissions Team.
Can I apply for more than one campus?
No, you can only be on one waitlist and one campus at a time, however you can change your preferred campus by contacting the Admissions Team.
If I change my child from one waitlist to another, do I need to pay the application fee again?
The application does not need to be paid again if you transfer to another waitlist. You can change your preferred entry year at any time by contacting the Admissions Team.
When will I know if I will be offered a place?
For Year 7 applications, offers will be begin to be made three years before, when the child is in Year 4.
For other intake years, the Admissions Team will process offers the year before commencement. The majority of offers will be sent out in the first and second term but the process can sometimes take longer so some places can still be offered later in the year.
What do I need to do when I am sent an offer?
To accept the offer you will need to pay the non-refundable and non-transferable enrolment fee and the signed Acceptance of an Offer for Enrolment by the due date. This will confirm your child’s place.
Are there fees for accepting a place?
To confirm enrolment there is a non-refundable and non-transferable enrolment fee of $2,000 ($1,000 enrolment fee and $1,000 to be deducted from the first fee instalment). In the case of the ELC, an additional $2,500 prepayment is required for the final instalment of Prep tuition fees (total $4,500). If a student leaves prior to the completion of Prep, this $2,500 is non-refundable and non-transferable.
What happens if I accept the offer but later decide to defer to another year level?
If you decide to defer your confirmed place you will not be refunded any of your entry fee. Your child will go back on the waitlist with the original date of application. Your child will not be guaranteed a place at another year level.
Do you offer scholarships?
Caulfield Grammar School offers a range of scholarships from Year 5 to Year 11, please visit our Scholarships page for more information.
