Caulfield Grammar School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Sarah Salter as the inaugural Deputy Principal – Head of Shelford Campus.
Sarah is already known by many members of our community. Since joining Caulfield Grammar School in 2016, Sarah has demonstrated outstanding leadership across a range of roles, including Junior School Coordinator, Deputy Head of Junior School, Head of Wheelers Hill Junior Campus and, most recently, Project Lead for Shelford Campus. Prior to commencing at Caulfield Grammar, Sarah had a key role in the establishment of Tarneit P-9 College where she led the curriculum development and embedding consistent, evidence-based teaching and learning practices in a brand-new school experiencing exponential growth.
As Project Lead, Sarah has been at the forefront of the strategic planning and operational setup of Shelford Campus. She developed the Business Case and secured School Council endorsement, leading a rigorous campus enrolment strategy and overseeing the execution of a high-impact marketing and communications plan. She has successfully built strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring positive community sentiment and engagement with the vision for Shelford Campus. Importantly, while looking to the future for Shelford Campus, Sarah has remained mindful and respectful of the values of Shelford Girls’ Grammar School.
Sarah is a proven and dedicated educational leader who is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and innovation. She is passionate about empowering educators to deliver outstanding learning experiences and creating a campus environment where students feel engaged, challenged and supported. She brings a highly strategic mindset and the proven ability to lead complex change with care and purpose.

Sarah will formally commence as Deputy Principal – Head of Shelford Campus on Thursday 1 May. Her appointment marks a significant milestone in the history of our School as we prepare to open Shelford Campus in 2027. We are confident that under her leadership, Shelford Campus will provide an exceptional learning environment, grounded in the values and educational excellence that define Caulfield Grammar School.
