Earlier this term, Wheelers Hill Secondary students took audiences on an extraordinary journey through Wunderland: Down the Rabbit Hole, the 2025 Secondary Dance Production.
The production reimagined Lewis Carroll’s timeless story, as Alice tumbled into a fractured world of strange and whimsical figures, each living in fear under an evil reign. On stage, the tension built as whispers of a strange girl in Wonderland spread – culminating in Alice’s capture and a dramatic confrontation before the Queen.
But this was no ordinary retelling. Through powerful choreography and evocative stagecraft, the audience glimpsed the Queen’s past – her origins as a girl with ambition, her desire and the story of a stolen throne. The layered narrative, paired with striking dance sequences and colourful costumes, created a performance that was as visually appealing as it was emotionally resonant.
