Year 2s Experience Yarra Junction Campus

Year 2 students recently enjoyed their first visit to Yarra Junction Campus, where they embraced new experiences, built friendships and explored learning beyond the classroom.

The day was filled with hands-on activities designed to connect students with the natural environment. Highlights included leaf painting, listening to bush stories, playing games at the potato patch and visiting the vegetable garden, where students enjoyed tasting mandarins freshly picked from the tree. The visit also provided an opportunity for students to meet and connect with their cross-campus peers, strengthening relationships across the School community.

Following their Yarra Junction experience, students returned to their Malvern and Wheelers Hill Junior campuses to take part in a Year 2 sleepover. The evening offered a chance to unwind and reflect, with a range of mindful activities including storytelling, yoga, movies and popcorn.

The combined experience supported students’ growing independence while encouraging curiosity, connection and reflection, making it a memorable milestone in their Junior School journey.
