The Path You Didn't Plan

In Term 3 our Caulfield Campus Careers team hosted an industry panel for Year 9 students with the theme ‘The Path You Didn’t Plan’.

Guest speakers Micheal Felgate (Sports journalist), Robyn Dixon (Head of Animation and Game Design at JMC), Yicheng Guo (AI engineer and tech builder), Alex Schiell (strategy & AI capability designer) and Josh Bienert (building & construction project management) shared honest and insightful stories about unexpected career paths that helped them find new passions and opportunities.

As our Year 9s start thinking about their own futures heading into Senior School, we hope our speakers key messages resonated: 

For many of us, there’s pressure to have life mapped out perfectly – but the truth is, paths often change, and sometimes the most meaningful opportunities come from the unplanned. Stay curious, be open to what comes your way, and trust that every step, planned or unplanned, helps shape who you will become.
