Charli Ceglar
I came from Albury, NSW, to board at Caulfield Grammar in Year 10, following in the footsteps of my older brother. I didn’t know any other boarders when I first arrived in 2022, but with the welcoming environment of Morcom House, it soon became clear what the next three years would look like – constant laughs, lifelong friendships, and a new level of independence.
Boarding at Caulfield Grammar has allowed me to grow as a person and experience new opportunities. It has taught me how to cope with life’s challenges – such as balancing a busy schedule of school, sport and friends. Although managing this sometimes seemed overwhelming, I knew everyone was experiencing the same challenges and there was always someone I could talk to.

I started boarding at Caulfield Grammar School as a timid 14-year-old from Mildura, Victoria, and it was a significant leap in independence and community-building. Leaving behind my familiar surroundings for a new environment was both exciting and challenging. I had to quickly adapt to a new routine and live with peers from various backgrounds. Sharing space with others has taught me invaluable lessons in diligence and communication.
