Our Dux – Austen Humphreys

Austen, from Wheelers Hill Campus, achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.95. He is one of only 39 students across Victoria to achieve this ranking, and we again congratulate Austen on this wonderful accomplishment.

Austen has made a positive and significant contribution to our School community. This year he was the recipient of Academic Colours, The School Prize for Mathematics, and the School General Excellence Awards for Academics. In 2021 Austen achieved a Credit in the Australian Chemistry Olympiad and was also awarded School General Excellence Awards for Academics, demonstrating his commitment to his studies during his time at Caulfield Grammar.

Austen has also been actively involved in school life, representing Caulfield Grammar in APS Tennis, Basketball and Badminton, and participating enthusiastically in House activities. His involvement in House Volleyball, House Athletics and House Public Speaking were particularly noteworthy, and he was re-awarded an Emblem for Service to Lumsden House this year. Recognising the benefits of striving for balance and ‘working smarter not harder’, Austen also participated in activities where his passions lie throughout the hectic VCE years, including mountain biking and video editing.

Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship

Three Caulfield Grammar School students were among 62 of Victoria’s highest-achieving VCE students offered Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarships yesterday at the University of Melbourne. Congratulations to Yuanqi (Rankee) Jin, Austen Humphreys (pictured above) and Richard Liu from Wheelers Hill Campus on this prestigious achievement, securing them a generous fee exemption and guaranteed place in the graduate program of their choice at the University of Melbourne in 2023.

Thank you again to our exemplary staff who go above and beyond each day to support our students in unlocking their passions and bringing out their best.

Go well, Class of 2022 – we look forward to seeing where your next adventures take you.
