Generations in Jazz Festival

Our musicians win accolades at the Generations in Jazz Festival

Generations in Jazz (GIJ) is one of Australia’s most significant school music events, bringing together more than 3,500 students from across the country. It is a highly competitive national event and our students represented Caulfield Grammar School with distinction.

We are thrilled to report the following results:

  • All That Jazz, conducted by Lok Davidson  🌟 1st Place – Division 3
  • Jazz Messengers, led by Lok Davidson 🌟 3rd Place – Small Jazz Combo
  • Jazz Heroes, led by Anthony Stanislavski, is currently in a rebuilding phase but still managed to come 11 out of 20 Jazz bands in their division, which is a wonderful achievement.

In addition, two students were selected for the Division 3.1 Superband, which included 21 other bands and approximately 350 students. These two musicians were deemed to be the best on their instrument across the whole division:

  • Zechariah Lee – Tenor Saxophone
  • Jarod Adams – Percussion

These are exceptional achievements and a wonderful reflection of our students’ dedication, musicianship, teamwork and preparation. They also speak to the quality of leadership, teaching and ensemble culture being fostered within our Music Program.
