German Exchange at YJ

Students from Wheelers Hill and Caulfield campuses recently came together for a fun and memorable German Camp at YJ, where they were joined by visiting German exchange students for a shared experience of language, culture and connection.

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Yarra Valley, the camp provided students with the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom and immerse themselves in authentic language experiences. Through interactive activities, collaborative challenges and hands-on cooking sessions, students used German in meaningful and engaging ways, building both their confidence and communication skills.

A highlight of the camp was the strong sense of community that quickly developed among participants. Students formed new friendships, supported one another through activities and embraced the chance to learn from different perspectives. The presence of German exchange students added a unique dimension to the experience, creating opportunities for genuine cultural exchange and real-world conversations.

Whether preparing meals together, practising language skills or simply sharing stories and experiences, students gained a deeper appreciation of both the German language and the value of global connections.
