Congratulations to Ayana Fridkin (Year 11 Wheelers Hill Campus), who won a Silver Medal at the prestigious European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI), held in Cesenatico, Italy.
Ayana was one of only four students selected to represent Australia at this year’s competition, which brought together 248 of the world’s most talented young programmers from 67 delegations. Her outstanding performance earned her a place among the top young female informatics competitors internationally and is a testament to her exceptional talent, dedication and perseverance.
EGOI is an international computer science competition designed to encourage and celebrate young women with a passion for informatics and computational thinking. Competitors tackle highly challenging algorithmic and programming problems under exam conditions, drawing on advanced coding skills, mathematical reasoning, creativity and resilience.
Ayana’s achievement is a remarkable personal success and an inspiring example of girls excelling in STEM on the global stage. We congratulate her on this outstanding accomplishment and look forward to following her future achievements.
