The Year 10 Odyssey Program at Caulfield Grammar School offers an extraordinary opportunity for students to step beyond the classroom and immerse themselves in Australia’s wild and beautiful landscapes. As the School’s premier outdoor education experience, Odyssey challenges students physically, mentally and emotionally — fostering personal growth, a strong sense of community and deep environmental stewardship.
Across each journey, students learn to navigate unfamiliar terrain, work collaboratively, and reflect on their place within the natural world. The Odyssey Program not only prepares Year 10 students for future challenges; it inspires them to lead with empathy, respect and curiosity. It is a pivotal experience that echoes far beyond their time at Caulfield Grammar, leaving a lasting impact on every individual who participates.
This year, students were challenged through a range of unforgettable outdoor experiences across Victoria and Tasmania. They explored the stunning waterways of Tasmania on a sea kayaking expedition, developed resilience and teamwork while bushwalking and climbing in the Grampians/Gariwerd, and connected with the local environment through bushwalking around the iconic Ada Tree, based out of Yarra Junction. These experiences encouraged students to embrace challenge, live in community, and appreciate the natural environment — the three core learning outcomes at the heart of the Odyssey Program.
