  • Caulfield Grammar School is a leading music school in Australia, respected for its innovation, high quality performances, specialist expertise and its breadth of student learning experiences for life. The School offers a broad range of extensive opportunities for young singers through participation in auditioned and non-auditioned choirs. With senior choirs operating at Wheelers HIll and Caulfield Campuses, opportunities exist for vocal performance at the highest standard. Successful applicants will have had extensive experience in national, school, community, youth or church choirs. A willingness and ability to take on choral leadership roles in our School will be expected, The Music Department has a regular interstate and international touring program.

    Suggested guidelines for all minimum levels for Music Scholarship applications:

    • Years 7: AMEB Grade 3 for Voice, AMEB Grade 8 Pianoforte, AMEB Grade 7 Violin, AMEB Grade 6 for other instruments.
    • Years 9 and 10: AMEB Grade 4 for Voice, AMEB AMusA Pianoforte, AMEB Grade 8 Violin, AMEB Grade 7 for other instruments.

    NOTE:

    UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN APPLICATIONS BE ACCEPTED AFTER THURSDAY 27 JANUARY 2022

    Music auditions will be held on Saturday 5 and Wednesday 9 February 2022, and all applicants will be notified at the conclusion of the audition and review process.

    Results of Scholarships are confidential and are not released by the School. Please do not send copies of your child's School Reports to Caulfield Grammar School. This information will be requested from short listed candidates at the time of interview.

    Scholarship recipients will be expected to display exemplary commitment, enthusiasm, contribution and leadership to the ensemble program. Music scholars are required to continue their private weekly instrumental/vocal tuition each year, including Year 12. In accepting a scholarship offer, students must complete VCE Music (Solo or Group Performance) as part of their VCE Course.

  • Voice Scholarships

    Voice Scholarships are awarded to new entry secondary students and those currently enrolled who have had vocal training with experiences in solo performances and choral groups. Selection of students for all Music Scholarships will be made on the basis of successful auditioning and interview.
